Review:

Do you know and love Penny Reid's Knitting in the City series? Yes? Great! Then this is for you. No? Really? Where have you been? Well you should go read these books now. Seriously they are amazing and each one keeps getting better and better. The first few shorts in Scenes from the City are snippets from the characters I already know and love from the prior books. If you haven't read them well it won't be that good for you. So really go read their stories then come back to this one (but make sure you order this before Dec 15th when it will no longer be available!). Or just skip to the last story where you get to see Fiona and Greg meeting for the first time.

Alright now that you all have caught up on this amazing series it is on to my review of Scenes from the City! This is a compilation of short stories from each of the KitC couples. They each get a scene and they are like special extras. Like a Christmas gift from Penny to us. What else could you ask for?

The book starts off with a short from Janie and Quinn's honeymoon - Neanderthal Seeks Honeymoon. Oh Janie and Quinn how I love you guys. Janie is so amazing I wish I were bff with her. And Quinn, I love Quinn for how amazing he is with Janie. For reals yo. Janie and Quinn's short is just fun. I laughed out loud at parts and it is always nice to get a little more time with the two of them. This is a short scene from their honeymoon and I loved it.

Elizabeth and Nico are up next with their short Friends Definitely With Benefits. I will be the first to admit that Nico and Elizabeth are not my favorite couple in the series (I am not a big fan of famous people in books for some reason). Their short was just kind of sweet and a bit silly, but it showed how much they care for each other and how they both were still a bit scared of how much they are feeling. I enjoyed their short more than I thought I would.

Then we move on to Sandra and Alex in Hacking the Hacker. Sandra and Alex you are perfect for each other! Alex and his super smart computer geek self and Sandra and her odd ways of thinking about things. Her lists and Alex's list of her lists and it is just amazing. Alex is so perfect for Sandra. He doesn't think her crazy things are crazy and he tries to make all of her crazy wishes come true. Perfect! Love them!

Then my favorite, Drew and Ashley in Beauty and the Beard. Oh Drew you slay me. And Ashley, Ashley is just as romantic like Drew for me. When I first read Beauty & the Mustache I thought it wasn't that different from Penny's other books. Sure more romantic, but still felt similar to me. Well after reading all of these shorts in a row when I got to Drew & Ashley I was just like oh, yeah, this is not the same thing. This is instant puddle on the floor. This is me instantly swooning so hard for Drew and Ashley. I loved it. I love them. Their letter writing and romantic nature just feeds my soul. I love most of Penny's stories, but Drew & Ashley's are far and away my favorite. Love love love it, but then again I would take any tiny crumb from the two of them.

Then finally we get to meet Greg and Fiona in Ninja at First Sight. Fiona you know from the other books. She is already with Greg, but you don't really know a lot about the two of them. The next book in the series will be Fiona and Greg's story and this compilation gives you the very beginnings of them as a couple. Oh man I cannot wait for this book now! Fiona and Greg are going to be amazing! They already are. Greg is an odd one in a very good way. He brings out some great things in Fiona. And Fiona...Fiona can give as good as she gets. It was a lot of fun getting to know these two a little bit, and I cannot wait for more! Greg is this guy who could argue the opposite side of any argument whether he agrees with his position or not. He kind of stirs up trouble, but he is so intelligent and fun. He and Fiona together have a great back and forth. I can't wait to read more!

So overall a great read if you like Penny Reid's Knitting in the City series. I love whatever extra time I can get with these great characters and can't wait for more! Definitely order this before it's too late. It is only on sale until Dec 15th!
