Indiscretion: Volume Four by Elisabeth Grace

Image
Indiscretion: Volume Four Synopsis: The image was seared into my mind. Imprinted. Emblazoned. Etched. Did I blame him for what I saw? Or myself, for allowing him the ability to cause the pain coursing through me? Betrayal was a weapon that cut to the core—the ‘what ifs’ the infection that festered in the wound. I’d thought we’d had roadblocks thrown in front of us before. Damn. Those would have seemed like mere speed bumps if I’d seen what was coming… Little did I know that what was headed our way would prove to be the biggest test of all—putting impossible choices in front of us. None of which seemed to lead to a happy ending in which the two of us were together. ****This is the FINAL volume in Max & Chloe's story!**** Review: Wow so I was hoping this series would end on a high note and boy did it. Indiscretion: Volume 4 was definitely the best in the series. I felt all the feels. It was so much better than everything else. I wish this level of

Indiscretion: Volume Three by Elisabeth Grace

Indiscretion: Volume Three Synopsis: A summer of f*ck buddies? Something to take the edge off? I was down. But when Chloe shows up at my hotel door, wanting to rip my head off, rather than give me head—I cared. A lot. Too much, in fact. This is turning into more. And I can’t do more. Like the ink under my skin she’s becoming permanent. Enduring. Immovable.  Was I ready to let her go though? Not a f*cking chance. Review: I enjoyed the first two volumes of this series well enough, but Indiscretion:Volume 3 just added drama for no good reason. This section starts off right where the last ended, with what Chloe sees in the newspaper. Yeah it was not very good, but it is easily fixed. The more pressing issue is that Chloe's boss seems to be able to dictate who she can and cannot see outside of working hours. I don't like that, I wish Chloe could stand up to him for herself. He really shouldn't be able to fire her for having a relationship with

Indiscretion: Volume Two by Elisabeth Grace

Indiscretion: Volume Two Synopsis: Fraternizing with the competition? Check. Risking everything I’d worked so hard for? Check. Mind-shattering orgasms? Double check. Max Richfield made me forget myself. Forget all the reasons why I'd chosen to be alone for so long. I had goals. I needed stability. He brought chaos. I’d taken years erecting my walls. And with good reason, I would soon discover. Now my inability to see beyond Max’s charm could cost me everything. Review: Indiscretion:Volume 2 is a continuation of Max and Chloe's story. Max is in town for a few months for construction of a building for his fathers company. Chloe is working at the competition, but neither of them seems to care that the other is trying to sell places just like they are. They definitely can keep their work and personal lives separate. Max and Chloe agreed to just have a sumer fling. They both want each other, both want the hot sexy time, but it will be nothing more. Th

Indiscretion: Volume One by Elisabeth Grace

Indiscretion: Volume One Synopsis: F*ck and chuck. Pump and dump. Hit it and quit it. One night stand. Didn’t matter how I branded it—that’s all she had wanted it to be. That much was clear when she left me with my pants down and my dick still out. What she hadn’t counted on was fate intervening and our worlds colliding—again. The day I showed back up in the life of Chloe Griffins, I knew I had to have her again. My body was hungry for another taste. Like an addict, I’d been craving another hit for months, and there she was—flesh and bone, tits and ass. The fact that she worked for the competition should’ve been reason enough for me to leave her alone. I had a job to do that summer and f*cking Chloe wasn’t part of it. But I was like a man possessed. I’d do whatever it took to have her again. Review: Indiscretion: Volume 1 is the first part of Chloe and Max's story. Chloe has spent the last ten years taking care of her sister. She doesn't want o

As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner - Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge

Image
As I Lay Dying Synopsis: As I Lay Dying is Faulkner's harrowing account of the Bundren family's odyssey across the Mississippi countryside to bury Addie, their wife and mother. Told in turns by each of the family members—including Addie herself—the novel ranges in mood from dark comedy to the deepest pathos. Review: As I Lay Dying is the first Faulkner I have read. While reading this book I kept telling my husband about the plot and really while doing so it sounded amazing. While reading, however, I just found it kind of boring. I understand it, I get what is going on and whatnot, and like I said when I talk or think about what happens I really enjoy it. It just wasn't enjoyable to read which is odd. This is the story of a family and their journey to bury Addie, their mom and wife. You have lots of points of view, each chapter changes who is telling the story, but for me most of them blended into one. Without each chapter being labeled who was speaking

Run (Charlotte Marshall Mysteries #1) by Becky Johnson

Image

Afraid and alone, she will learn the meaning of trust and just when to run. Review: Run had an interesting idea, but the execution wasn't my favorite. It was entertaining, but could have been much better. I am not quite sure exactly why but the writing was just off for me. It didn't really make me as involved with the story as I should have, though I did enjoy it well enough. Charlotte remembers seeing a news story when she was younger, and is reminded of that when she starts doing some research for a new book. She st
