Synopsis:

The dreaded friend-zone... The last place I ever want to be with college basketball God, Jake LaShae. I am losing my mind trying to figure out what this gorgeous and confident man wants from me. I need to break through his walls. What is it about me that makes him not go there? What am I lacking? When a mind-blowing betrayal knocks the wind out of me, and I think I can't feel any lower...Brody stumbles into my path-barefoot no less, and sexy as hell. His direct and mouth-watering swagger is a breath of fresh air. The feelings this man gives me are like nothing I've ever experienced. But Brody has a past. A past that makes it nearly impossible for him to trust me and let us become us in whatever capacity that may be. Just when Brody and I truly connect, just when I think that finding my soul-mate in college isn't a total joke, Jake comes back into my life...and messes things up...possibly for good.

Review:

Becoming Us was such a great read. I loved Brody! He was so much fun! I know he could be a little over the top at times, but that first meeting? Oh he was adorable.

So this story starts off with Finley sitting in a coffee shop hoping that today will finally be the day that Jake LeShae talks to her. That they start a conversation instead of just making eye contact. Jake LeShae who is the hottest guy ever. Jake who once they did start talking I kept thinking am I supposed to like this guy? Cause I didn't. Not at all. He was a huge jerk. Stringing Fin along for what seemed like no good reason. They started talking and hanging out and he would sometimes act like he wanted more, like he wanted to date her, but then would just shut down and go dark on her. Then they would be just friends again and the cycle would repeat itself. He was...not very good. He might be hot, but he runs too hot and cold.

When things finally blow up between them I was so happy. Finally Fin can move on and find someone more worthy of her. She was such a sweet person she deserved someone great. And then there was Brody. Oh he was adorable! When he runs out into the parking lot without any shoes and a half empty bag of garbage just so he has an excuse to be out there and talk to her oh I loved it. From the moment he stepped into the picture I was just smiling ear to ear. He was wonderful.

So Fin and Brody were so cute together! They do do that thing where they just get wrapped up in each other and the outside world doesn't seem to exist, but I didn't care. He does have a bit of baggage that comes up a time or two, a few scenes where he gets really crazy in not a good way, but he knows he has issues as well. He knows he needs to try and figure his stuff our so he doesn't lose the best thing to ever happen to him. They both feel so much so quickly it can be a bit rough at times, but oh how I loved these two. Brody really helps Fin be more confident and self assure. Jake did a number on her with the constantly keeping her guessing so Brody was a welcome change with his open honesty. He was adorable! I loved watching the two of them grow closer and figure everything out.

Until we get to the ending. The epilogue where it is all ominous cliffhanger-ey and...I enjoyed this story so much, but I really don't know that I will enjoy the next book. One of the things I really hate in stories is when people make decisions for other people, and that is what book 2 sounds like it will be. So...I loved this story, but wish it wouldn't have had the epilogue.
