Hero by Lauren Rowe is now live!! I love these Morgan brothers so much and Colby is no exception!

Now available on

Synopsis:

A standalone contemporary romance in the MORGAN BROTHERS SERIES from USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe. The story of firefighter Colby Morgan that proves heroes come in many forms . .

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.

And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.

I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.

No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit.

When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.

She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling.

And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.

And I fell in love.

But what I didn’t know . . . what I couldn’t possibly know . . . was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

Review:

Hero was a great read. A bit emotional for me and as I was reading it on the train I kept telling myself not to tear up. People will think I am that weirdo crying on the train for no reason. But Colby and Lydia tugged so hard on  my heartstrings it was hard to keep it together, and I am not a cryer. They are both so beautiful and broken in different ways, but they help each other be stronger. To fix themseleves. To be better people and work through their issues. I loved this story so much.

Colby is a firefighter who was injured on the job. He just couldn't give up and had to stay and try to make sure everyone was out. In doing so he is a hero, but an injured one. I loved Colby so so much. He is normally the quiet one, the one that sits back and lets others talk, but with Lydia he is not like that. With Lydia he is a chatterbox. Right from the first moments he wants to be with her. Sure he can't for many reasons, but that doesn't stop him from trying to win her over. He is such a sweetheart!

Lydia has had a rough time of it. She is still trying to heal from her last heartbreaks, but it is hard. She has three young kids to take care of and doesn't really have time for much else. She is a physical therapist and a really good one at that. When she is assigned to help Colby recover from his injuries she sees it as a way to help herself heal. To help her get over what happened. She doesn't count on how charming he is, how kind and sweet and funny. How she will start to fall for him and want things she shouldn't.

These two were heartbreaking to read. I loved them so much together, but they both have been through so much and have a long way to go. Lydia's kids are are also so sweet. I loved how they each have their own personalities and relationship with Colby and everyone else. I loved how supportive Lydia and Colby were for each other. How they step back and really make sure that they are doing this right. Because Lydia is it for Colby and he doesn't want to mess this up. As long as she wants him around he will do what he can to make them a little family. To suport and love and be there for everyone. I love these Morgan brothers. They are all so sweet, so kind, so caring. And Lydia and her family are a great addition to the mix. She has a lot of rough times to still deal with, but if she can handle it everything will be amazing. She will gain so much.

I loved this story. It made me tear up, it pulled on my hearstrings, but it made me so hopeful and happy as well. It was a wonderful read and a great addition to this series.
