Need You for Mine (Heroes of St. Helena #3) by Marina Adair

Available on

Synopsis:

Every red-blooded male in St. Helena wants Harper Owens…as a friend. Despite her efforts at seduction, Harper seems to be destined to end up alone. The only guy with a knack for unleashing her inner vixen is firefighter and resident rule-breaker Adam Baudouin. Agreeing to a faux-mance could help him secure a promotion—and save her family’s lingerie shop, the Boulder Holder. But playing with fire has consequences. Especially when the flame comes courtesy of St. Helena’s own Five-Alarm Casanova.…

None of Adam’s quick-and-easy hookups have prepared him for a connection this extraordinary. There’s more to the milk-and-cookies art teacher that he’d love to explore. But first he has to convince her to trust the town’s most notorious playboy. Even tougher—he’ll have to trust himself to be the real-life hero this warm and sexy woman deserves.

Review:

Need You for Mine was so much fun to read! I really love these stories and will need to read more from this author. So cute, and hot, and fun, and everything I wanted.

Harper is friends with everyone. And just friends. She keeps crushing on guys only to be put firmly in the friend zone. And she is tired of it. She wants to be in a loving relationship. She wants to get married and have kids and everything. But will she be able to find someone who will see her and love her for who she is? She grew up with an actress mother who out shown her and she was always overlooked. Still is, but she thinks she is finally going to find her guy. Finally get what she has always wanted. She has been there for the new doctor and helped him get his life back together, helped with his son, and now she is ready for them to take the next move. He is going to do it. It is their time. Only someone else keeps getting in the way.

Adam is a ladies man. He doesn't want a relationship. Doesn't want to be tied down. If you just get in and out, one night no strings, no one gets hurt. He can't disappoint anyone. He grew up in town, grew up with Harper, but never really noticed her. Until they run into each other one night and he really sees her for the first time. Although the timing of everything is not so good for him. Plus he knows miss sunshine and rainbows is not a one night stand kind of girl. She would want forever and he can't give that to her.

But what happens when these two keep getting mixed up with each other? When their lives intertwine and they need each others help? Oh, it was fun. Adam doesn't want a relationship, doesn't want to want Haper, but he does. She calms him and makes him feel settled in a way no one ever has. She sees the real him, the super sweet, kind, caring guy he is beneath his reputation. How he is a leader, helps others when needed, is just really a great guy. And Adam sees Harper. The real her. He doesn't overlook her or miss how amazing she is. They have a serious connection but can they work out long term? I loved these two. Their story was super cute and sweet, but also hot hot hot, and fun and everything wrapped up in one great story. It was so much fun to read.
