Stolen Course
Stolen Course (Wrecked and Ruined Book 2)

Synopsis:

**Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone.**

I fell in love with Manda Baker eight years ago, and I loved her to the core of her soul. We were supposed to have that elusive happily ever after and spend a lifetime together. But that was all before she was STOLEN from me.

Her best friend, Sarah Erickson, killed her. It wasn’t intentional. It was far worse. Everyone claims it was just an accident, but I can see through the lies. Even if it’s with my dying breath, I will make her pay for what she did.

Fate hates me. It robbed me of my first love and left me to navigate through this world emotionless and numb. Then, one day, spiteful fate gave me a woman to fill my shattered soul and make me feel again. It gave me Emma Jane Erickson. Now I spend my days searching for the answers that will ruin Sarah and my nights falling in love with her sister—the one person who is bound and determined to save her.

But what happens when everything you know to be true explodes around you? Who will be left to pick up the pieces, and who will need to be saved from the wreckage?

Review:

Stolen Courses was a great read. I really enjoyed the first book, loved Brett and Jesse, but this one...I heart Cale and Emma so much! They were just great together. Both books are about these people who were changed years ago because of an accident that killed one girl and turned another into this mean, angry, guilty lady. I loved watching the characters come back to life again after dwelling on the past for so long.

Caleb lost his fiance the night of the accident. He loved Manda, but she wouldn't set a date. He was very frustrated with the whole thing and it was really important to him for them to be married. Then he lost her just when she was going to tell her why she wouldn't set a date. Why she wouldn't commit to really marrying him. He has hated Sarah, the one who lived but is now a bitter, angry woman, since then. He is convinced that she was driving after drinking and she killed Manda. He has not stopped investigating the accident as he wants to lock her away for what she did.

At the end of the last book Sarah really went too far. She shot at Brett and convinced everyone she was holding Jesse at gunpoint. Brett was the only one who hadn't given up on her, but after that he was done. Caleb took her to the hospital and waited there until someone else came. That someone happened to be Emma, Sarah's sister. Right from the start Caleb couldn't stop thinking about her and she him. They knew they shouldn't get involved. After all he hates her sister, but there is just something there between them. Emma lives far away and when she finds out how much trouble her sister is in she decides to pack up and move to be closer to her. While she is tying things up back home so she can move Caleb and Emma start talking every night. They are so great together, they are falling for each other, and they cannot wait to be in the same place together.

Only things don't work out exactly as planned. They never really talked about Sarah and that causes some issues. They do make a plan, but really Emmy knows it will all blow up eventually. Caleb was amazing though. Where Brett was hesitant to get serious again, Caleb knew he was in love with Emmy. He knew he wanted her to be his future. He let Manda go and was all in with Emmy. I loved him. I loved how he was not afraid to move on, to live and love again once he found someone he wanted to do that with. Yes, he can be a hard headed jerk at times, but it comes from a place of caring. He just doesn't want anything to happen to Emma.

The real problem is Emma in this one. Even though she falls in love with Caleb she doesn't see it lasting forever. She is not all in when he is and that hurts him. There are things that happen and then he realizes that while he was planning forever she was not. He does have issues still to deal with that Manda left him with, like having another girl not want to commit to him, but oh my heart kept breaking for him. They both have strong, stubborn personalities so when they clash things get bad. Emma keeps thinking that Caleb is not really there for her even though he is 100%. It was funny how she talks to Brett at one time and says how Caleb is just with her because he is a good guy and Brett just laughs. He is just like Caleb is a good guy, but not that good. It was funny. Emma is determined to think that he is not there for her, just because he feels like he has to be with her, makes her seem like she is not all in which hits Calebs weak spots. Oh it was heatbreaking.

Then the last parts, oh my goodness! Sarah has been making strides in this book to not be such a terrible person, she finally got some help to try and move on, but she still wasn't my favorite. I am kind of like Brett, she went to far at the end of the last book. But then we find out more about what happen and man oh man. I thought I hated Sarah, but phew. Once the bomb is dropped I was just like are you kidding me?? Who are you people?!?! I...I hated them. I cannot imagine how someone could do what they did. I just...it was crazy. And leads to more intense emotional stuff. My husband was trying to talk to me as I was in those last chapters and I was just like ah - give me time. I need to see what happens!! It was crazy, it was intense, but it was such a good read.
