Imperfect Chemistry was a really cute read. Lucy and Jensen are perfect for each other and so much fun to read.
Lucy is the kind of character I love. She is this super smart, socially awkward girl who is trying to study emotions. She has a grant to do so and everything. The only issue? She has never really understood other people and emotions so she is not the best with them. She has been working in the clinic trying to help people with their problems, but oh she is not good at it. You see her talking to Freya in the beginning about Freya's boyfriend who cheated on her and Lucy is just so matter of fact about everything. Not really what you want to hear in that kind of situation, but Lucy doesn't know any better. She thinks she is helping by being so blunt and honest but the people she is counselling don't really like it. So she is forced to take leave and try to figure out what she is going to do. She needs to try and experience emotions so she can figure out what and how exactly she will study them.
This is where Jensen comes in. Lucy needs to experience emotions, to study them, so she tries to enlist Jensen to help her out. Oh this was so much fun to read. Lucy doesn't understand why her straightforward way of speaking and going about things put some people off. Really she just asks him if he will help her, just talking, and it is just so shocking he immediately says no. He starts to change his mind as they start to be friendly and he gets used to Lucy and her awkward ways. They were so cute together!
Through all of this Lucy learns to be more "normal" and she makes some good friends. I just loved her to pieces. They way she goes about everything, always so honest and open and straight forward with everyone, was just fun to read. I love characters like her. By the end she is still herself, but just tweaked a little bitt. I loved her.
Jensen was really sweet as well. He gets closer to Lucy and you can see how much he cares for her. He has some family issues, his dad wanting to dictate his life for him, and that causes some problems, but Lucy tries to help him when she can. It was just such a fun, sweet read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
