Synopsis:

These Royals will ruin you…

From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most.

Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome.

Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation.

No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all.
They may be right.

With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

Review:

*spoilers ahead*

Twisted Palace is the conclusion of Ella and Reed's story. I was just meh on the second book and while this one I did enjoy more it was still a bit frustrating.

Reed was arrested at the end of the last book because Brooke was killed and he was the last person seen leaving her place. He didn't do it, but he has a temper and it doesn't look good for him. He might actually go away for awhile.

Ella's dad also mysteriously shows up and no one thinks that is strange. Especially when he has a HUGE problem with Ella dating Reed. He was always close with the Royals so why would he hate them dating so much? And no one finds it suspicious that Brooke was killed right before dead dad shows up as alive? No one? Not even curious if the two are related? And then he forced Ella to live with him even though she doesn't want to and thinks he is kind of creepy? And that he is fighting hard core with his wife, Dinah, who was Brooke's bff and looks a lot like Brooke from behind? How Dinah tried to kill dad, but failed and maybe he had come back early and tried to kill Dinah but killed Brooke accidentally instead? No one thinks of this? Seriously? He is the first person I would have looked at as the killer right from the beginning. Really right from when he showed up at the end of the last book so I have no idea why no one thought to question if he did it or not. Especially when it is obvious he has no love for Dinah and she tried to kill him so it would make sense that he do the same to her. It was weird.

So yeah, this book didn't work that well for me. The parts with Ella and Reed and all were fine, but the whole murder mystery that is not really a mystery just everyone too stupid to look at the murderer who is right in front of their faces ruined it a bit. The whole reveal at the ending that it was *schock* the dead dad back from the grave and that he had had an affair with the Reed's mom and so then everyone is magically healed and perfect and ride off into the sunset wonderful was a bit much. I was hoping the authors would surprise me and this would work out some other way, but oh well. It was meh at best.
