Synopsis:

Falken survived the ordeal on Olympus, only to be stunned with a shocking revelation: his good friend Weaver is still incarcerated on Oz. The only way to get Weaver out is to volunteer to go back inside the prison himself. But the clock is ticking – Falken will only have a few days to find his friend and help him escape. While he’s back on Oz, he’ll have to follow the rules to the letter. One step out of line, and they’ll both be stuck in jail … forever.

Review:

I feel like every time I sit down to write a review of this author's works I end up saying the same thing. This story is awesome! So much fun! I loved it so so much!! Couldn't put it down! But that is because all of his books are seriously so much fun and I love them. I read them with a big smile on my face. When I see he has a new book out I am so excited to start reading. It is awesome. I love this author's stories, I love the worlds he creates and the characters I get to meet and it is always a fun super entertaining read.

The first two books in the Falken series could be read as standalone, but not Return to Oz. It draws on what happened in the first two books and, as the title implies, Falken returns to Oz. The same Oz as in book one. So if you haven't at least read Escape from Oz you will not have all the info to fully enjoy this story.

Falken is a great guy. He let his temper get the best of him back in the day, back before the start of the first book that set all of his adventures in motion. He has changed, he is not that person anymore, and I really enjoyed reading him. When he found out his friend Weaver is still in prison he is shocked. He thought for sure Weaver had gotten out just like he had. So once he found out this was not the case he has to try and help him. After all, Weaver helped him become the person he is today. He helped Falken get out of prison and become something. Falken can't just let Weaver rot in there forever.

This story had all the fun adventure that I love and all of the character that I love to read. One thing I really enjoy about this author's books is he always has a lot of characters, a lot of storylines that might not seem to be related, but they all come together in the end. This is not just Falken trying to get Weaver out of jail and what happens with him. This is also Weaver's daughter looking into the incident that got Weaver incarcerated in the first place. This is the story of the system that incarcerates people and how hard it can be to leave. This is people stirring up trouble trying to find out the truth. It was fun going back into Oz and seeing what it is like with Weaver in control. It is such a cool idea and getting to see all the people we met before and what they are doing when Falken goes back was a lot of fun. The way the author weaves everything together works so well. It's not easy, the system is really not set up for people who are innocent of crimes they committed, but maybe with Falkens help Weaver can get back to his family. Can have a life again. Really a great read.
