Synopsis:

Once Rose Fisher makes a decision, that’s it. End of story.

Like when her ex, Patrick, dumped her out of the blue, then showed up with a super hot, tatted up sex kitten on his arm. Then it was over for good. The end. Poof. Dead to her. Except he was everywhere — down the hall, at the bar with their friends, worming his way into her dreams.

But with their friends paired off, they’re left alone more and more. Rose is determined to keep him friendzoned — doesn’t matter that he stares at her with a smolder that drops all panties in a ten foot radius. She’s over him, and she’ll prove it by getting back into the dating game, Patrick be damned.

Patrick Evans is no stranger to consequences. When your mother walks out, your dad drifts away. When you leave home, you’re on your own. And when you run away from the girl you love, you lose her. He finally has an opportunity to rebuild the bridge he burned, and it’s not one he’ll take for granted. But he’ll have to fight for her, even if it hurts. Even if it means he’ll walk away brokenhearted. Because deep down, he knows that she’s it for him.

The trick will be to get her to admit she feels it too.

Review:

I have been waiting to read Patrick and Rose's story since I first met them. Throughout the other books you can see Patrick pining away for her, but knows that it is all his fault he is no longer with her. And once Rose makes up her mind it is really hard to get her to change it. Since Patrick hurt her before she is adamant that she will not give him a chance again. She can't.

Oh these two. They are really a bit too alike in a lot of ways. Both of them scared that the other will hurt them, will leave them, and both not able to really talk about what they are feeling. It was fun watching them circle each other, watching Patrick try and slowly creep back in. I really enjoyed this read.

This author sure knows how to write amazing, fun, sweet, cute romances. I have loved everything of hers I have read. They are all just so cute and fun and wonderful. They make me smile.

So Patrick messed up 7 months ago. He told Rose he wanted out because he was afraid of his feelings, and she let him go without a word. No asking him to stay or anything. Which to him confirmed that she didn't care. Only he realized too late how much she did and by then it was too late. She has been giving him the cold shoulder since then. Or as much of a cold shoulder as she can when he is there all the time. She was really hurt and doesn't want to chance her heart again even if she is still not over him.

When Patrick starts showing up more and more, is really just around all the time, she has a hard time staying away. It was fun to watch. They are so cute together. The whole time you are just rooting for them and watching and waiting for them to figure out that they both love each other. That they both will be there for the other if they can just get out of their way. All of their friends see it, really I am sure strangers even see it, but they just can't. They are too much in their heads, but luckily they figure it out in the end. It was really sweet.

Now I will say the end felt just a tiny bit rushed. Like everything was fixed just a tad too quickly and easily, but I loved these character so much I didn't even care. There is a lot going on, Patrick having to figure out how to not let his past ruin things in more ways than one, but he was solid. He is just a really good guy and once he cares about you he cares about you. That is it. It was just such a fun read.
