A Fallen Star by Chris Audsley - 2 star review

Image
Synopsis: John Douglas wakes up in his car covered in blood and no recolection of the previous night. He soon discovers he's been framed for the murder of a beautiful actress. With his world turned to chaos, can John find the truth? Review: I didn't realize how short A Fallen Star was when I started reading it. As it was I was just like why is everything moving so quickly? It really wasn't that good of a read, but it is really short so super quick.  John wakes up in his car with a bloody knife and covered in blood. He calls his friend up to help him, but that doesn't seem to work out too well. The cops are looking for him as a TV star was killed, one whom had a hand in ending his marriage. The whole thing just didn't add up for me. Like John just letting the movie star into his house when she is kind of off, him running and just magically figuring out who was trying to set him up, etc. It just didn't work. It was too quick and easy. It could ...

When I'm Gone (The Rosemary Beach Series Book 11) Synopsis: From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next new adult novel in the Rosemary Beach series, in which we meet Mase, a Texas heartthrob first introduced in Take a Chance who comes to Rosemary Beach to stir things up. I had an urge to fix all her problems. Which was stupid. She was doing fine without me. But something about those big eyes… Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star… Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed l...

When Freya agrees to help him find the real killer, she discovers that this bad boy isn’t so bad, after all. I loved the first book, Imperfect Chemistry , because ...

Fighting Silence (On The Ropes Book 1) Synopsis: Sound is an abstract concept for most people. We spend our lives blocking out the static in order to focus on what we believe is important. But what if, when the clarity fades into silence, it's the obscure background noise that you would give anything to hold on to? I've always been a fighter. With parents who barely managed to stay out of jail and two little brothers who narrowly avoided foster care, I became skilled at dodging the punches life threw at me. Growing up, I didn’t have anything I could call my own, but from the moment I met Eliza Reynolds, she was always mine. I became utterly addicted to her and the escape from reality we provided each other. Throughout the years, she had boyfriends and I had girlfriends, but there wasn't a single night that I didn’t hear her voice. You see, meeting the love of my life at age thirteen was never part of my plan. However, neither was gradually going deaf at the ...
